Matilda Ernkrans

Minister of International Development Cooperation, Sweden

Matilda Ernkrans was appointed Minister for International Development Cooperation in November 2021. Between 2019 and 2021, Ms Ernkrans served as Minister for Higher Education and Research.

Ms Ernkrans was elected Member of Parliament in 2002. She has served as chair of both the Committee on Education and the Committee on Environment and Agriculture. Prior to that, she served as member of the Committee on Social Insurance and the Committee on Cultural Affairs. She has also served as member of the War Delegation.

Ms Ernkrans is Chair of the Örebro branch of the Swedish Social Democratic Party and a member of the National Board of the Swedish Social Democratic Party.

Ms Ernkrans lives in Hallsberg. She is married and has two children. She holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from Örebro University.
