My Body my choice

Unsafe abortion remains a leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide.

In Francophone Africa alone, around 1.8 million unsafe abortions are carried out every year.

Whilst progress is being made to advance access to safe abortion in the region, more must be done to prioritise the health and well being of women and girls.

Our partnership with Rutgers

Abortion care that is not only legal, but safe and de-stigmatised, should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.

In a world where the impact of unsafe abortion continues to take a toll on women and girls, our mission is clear: break the cycle and create a safer, healthier future for all. That’s why SheDecides is proud to partner with Rutgers on their She Makes Her Safe Choice programme.

Through our partnership, we will spotlight progress being made to tackle unsafe abortion in the region, and bring the work of local change makers to the global stage.
