Bio: In her work with civil society and youth organisations in Morocco, Chaimae has led several workshops on gender equality, mobilising around Sustainable Development Goal Five.
“Today around the world, women and girls are victims of different types of violences whether physical, verbal or sexual… that are tackled without going over the root of the problem that is « Consent ». Despite the continuous discussions we have about this, consent is rarely a topic at the heart, or even worse… rarely ever part of societies’ agenda.
In fact, the violence that exists in societies today is built around neutralized concepts which haven’t been recognized as basic human rights in interpersonal relationships, and mainly « consent » We will continue to pay the price of our neglect unless we start talking about this.”
